If you are selected as a director for the festival, you will be given the choice of over 50 shortlisted scripts to choose from. Alternatively, you can provide your own script.
We can help you connect with local performers to cast your play. Then, with our support, you will direct a compelling 10-minute play for presentation to an enthusiastic public audience, in an iconic Townsville venue.
Purchase a locked-off single camera archival video of your ten-minute play or cabaret act.
Does not contain other Short+Sweet acts. Only the artists are able to purchase their video - these are not for general sale.

What time is it? Is it time for him to come? An innocent conversation turns into a violent and alarming one. It beckons the terrifying idea that perhaps an Ice Age is safer than the current circumstances that face their reality.

For the one entry fee of just AU$20, your film will be considered for all of the festivals above, as well as any additional festivals we run around the globe in 2016 & 2017.

Short+Sweet Bollywood is the newest medium to join the Short+Sweet family. For this first time ever, this exciting new format is coming to Dubai! Open to both the experienced and fresh blood, Short+Sweet gives hundreds of artists an opportunity to perform, and choreograph, while encouraging audiences to see brand new works on stage!
In October 2016, participants will showcase the best of UAE’s talent at The Junction, Dubai. Short+Sweet Bollywood rewards creativity, originality and imagination across the following areas:
· Most Outstanding Choreography
· Most Promising Male Dancer
· Most Promising Female Dancer
· People’s Choice Award
Competition | Entry Requirements
· Performances must run for a minimum duration of 4 minutes and must not exceed 10 minutes
· It can be any dance form but the only condition is that the music has to be from a Bollywood film.
· Dance troupes of all nationalities are invited to perform and join in the creative and colourful event that is Bollywood!
· Be extraordinary! Short+Sweet highly encourages creativity and imagination in all entries.

The shortlist for Short+Sweet Theatre Canberra 2016 can now be announced!
Directors have made their selections, and we can now congratulate the fantastic playwrights whose scripts made it onto this year's shortlist. The calibre of plays was excellent, and it was great to see such great writing coming in from Canberra, the Capital Region and all over the world.
The program for the festival is still being finalised, and will be made available very soon. but for now, it's time to congratulate the shortlisted writers!
