Short+Sweet Theatre is a festival of ten minute plays and theatre pieces. We are the most far-reaching brand of short form theatre in the world. Each year we showcase hundreds of bite-sized dramatic treats.

A searing family drama set in Kentucky and a comic re-telling of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet claimed the major awards at a sold out Red Carpet Gala Final of Short+Sweet Dubai at DUCTAC in the Mall of the Emirates on Saturday night.

Short+Sweet’s night of nights… the glittering climax of the biggest little theatre festival in the world. The top 12 short plays from this year’s bumper crop – all less than 10 minutes long.
The best of the fest fight it out for glory and a host of great prizes in front of a packed house and entertainment industry judges.

Short+Sweet’s biggest, brightest gala ever! A ‘mixed plate’ of tasty ten-minute bites showcasing the best four from each of its three bumper Sydney summer festivals: Theatre, Cabaret and Dance.
Short+Sweet is the biggest short-form performing arts festival in the world and Sydney’s – the original and longest-running season – is the jewel in the crown.
More than 180 plays, 35 cabaret and 45 dance pieces featured over the Sydney summer at two parallel inner west theatres.
Now, with the finals of the three festivals done and dusted, the Seymour hosts one last spectacular ‘encore’ boasting the best of the fests.

The drama and laughs are really heating up this week at Short+Sweet Dubai, as the biggest ten-minute theatre festival in the world moves into its final week at DUCTAC in the Mall of the Emirates. And there's a real international flavour with plays from Dubai writers, the US as well as visiting groups from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi., Pakistan and even New York!

Arts NSW has terminated a $1.5 million, four-year contract with Short + Sweet Productions Australia Ltd, the company responsible for delivering a regional theatre festival, due to a ''serious breach'' of the funding agreement.
