ITC & GROUP SUBMISSION FORM | Short+Sweet Illawarra Theatre Festival 2025

You will need information about your script, director and any information about actors you want to include in your application, and basic information about your company.

You do not need to be an existing or established theatre company - you can be a new collection of creatives assembled for this production.
If you would like to produce a play for the festival, but do not have a script or a devised concept - you can register as a stand-allone director here and use one of our shortlisted scripts.

If you are an established theatre company, this is the perfect way of promoting your own theatre group, by submitting your own script, director and even your own actors (if you wish). Your company will be promoted as part of the festival, and your name credited on the weekly programme. 

However, you do not need to be an established theatre entity to submit as a group for Short+Sweet, you can assemble a group of creatives specifically to produce your short play for the festival if you wish, you'll just to think of a cool name! 
 
Your group or ITC Submission is an application to stage either the core of, or a complete short play for staging as part of Short+Sweet Illawarra. 
Your ITC submission must include either a script (or a written proposal of the short play in which you would like to produce), and at least the name of the director who will be in charge of the play. Your submission may include actors if you wish, or you may cast from our Short+Sweet open auditions.
 
Your submission will be assessed as a complete application. 
 
There is no application fee for submitting an ITC, but if you would like your script submitted to our international pool for possible production at our festivals around the world, please also remember to submit your script at the shortandsweet.org website in addition to completing your ITC application for the Illawarra festival (there is a submission fee of approx. $20 Australian dollars).

You will need to complete four Sections:

  • Section 1: The Script (and the writer)
  • Section 2: Director
  • Section 3: Actors & Company
  • Section 4: Group Info

Please be sure to have contact details and bios for your writer and director (including headshots) and of course your script/proposal ready to submit your form.
