Week 1 Plays: Short+Sweet Illawarra Theatre Festival 2022

SHORT+SWEET ILLAWARRA THEATRE FESTIVAL

WEEK 1 | 15-17 SEPTEMBER 2022

The return of the Illawarra’s contribution to the world’s biggest little festival: SHORT+SWEET is just around the corner, and we have an epic 22 plays over a two-week season 15-24th September 2022 at the Bridge Street Theatre Coniston.

Our first week of ten-minute live theatre features a strong representation of local scripts. Eight of our first batch of eleven short plays are indeed from the pen of Illawarra writers – an impressive achievement given the strength of our international scripts that directors had to choose from.

Week one also features six writers who are also directing their own play, including traveling directors Rosalind Dixon (Sydney) and Vee Malnar (Canberra).

It also features two plays that were recently produced as part of Black Box Production’s 24 Hour Theatre, two plays from our festival hosts The Phoenix Theatre Company as well as plays produced by Gabatwa Studios, Crackerjack Entertainment and Rock Chikz.

Week 1 will run 15-17 September 7:30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at the Bridge Street Theatre Coniston, home of the Phoenix Theatre Company.

Tickets are now on sale via Trybooking.com

Adult $22, Youth/Student/Concession $17, Pension/Disability/Carers $12
