Independent Theatre Companies (ITC) Submissions

Thank you for your interest in submitting an independent production for Short+Sweet Theatre Illawarra 2018! Independent Theatre Companies (ITC) may pitch their ten-minute performance using this form.

Submitting as an Independent Theatre Company entry into Short+Sweet Illawarra gives a group of local artists the chance to submit not only a script for consideration, but be able to work with their own creative team.

An ITC entry must at the very least have both a director and a script or detailed play concept. ITC's can choose to work with the actors of their choosing, or cast from the Short+Sweet Illawarra open auditions.

Submissions are encouraged from all Illawarra based community and independent theatre groups. You don't have to be an established organisation - even a loose collection of creatives is fine by us!

For our first season, we are accepting scripts that have been performed previously in the Illawarra, however future Illawarra scripts can not have been produced locally and submitted to our festival. If the script has been performed in Sydney previously, it will not be eligible to receive People's Choice or Judges votes, as these determine which Illawarra plays are invited to progress to Short+Sweet Sydney 2019.

This form allows you to tell us what you want to do, and we'll use the information you provide to determine whether to include you in the festival. Be as clear and detailed as possible and note that you must include details of your director, cast and script/concept.

There is no cost to submit your ITC to Short+Sweet Illawarra.

Please be sure that your script does not contain the writer's name. This is to assist us in the script assessment process.
