Registrations are now open for choreographers to apply to enter the inaugural Short+Sweet Illawarra Dance Festival, which will launch the biggest Short+Sweet Illawarra season yet - which includes Theatre, Film, Cabaret and Voices (choral groups).
Short+Sweet Dance is a festival of 10 minute dance pieces. We provide a platform for independent choreographers, dancers, and companies to experiment with new ideas, concepts and movement styles. Short+Sweet Dance develops emerging talent, fosters industry relations, and develops new audiences for dance.
Short+Sweet Dance caters to audiences who want to experience new dance works served to them in pint-sized presentations.
Auditions
Auditions will take place on Saturday 17th June at the Bridge Street Theatre. Your dance audition piece does not need to your finished product, we will simply view this as a proposal of the piece you will be preparing to present for our festival.
Performance Season
Technical Rehearsals: Thursday 3rd August
Performances: Friday 4th to Sunday 6th August
Gala Finals: 24th, 25th and 26th of August (winning dance acts)
